Olivia Rokotuiveikau joined Bloomberg Associates in May 2019. Her work to date has been largely in the field of disaster recovery, climate adaption, resilience and community engagement.

Previously, she was an Associate Director at the Rockefeller Foundation’s 100 Resilient Cities, working with a portfolio of North American cities as liaison and advisor to member city governments, bringing resources to develop, and implementing innovative resilience strategies. Olivia has worked as a Recovery Specialist for Planning with the Colorado state government supporting local jurisdictions on recovery from the events of the 2013 flood, including community recovery planning, and the management and disbursement of key federal grants. Internationally, she has worked in Jakarta, Indonesia, as an urban specialist for the World Bank aiding the city government with their urban poverty and climate change strategy, and in post-earthquake Port-au-Prince, Haiti, as a community redevelopment planner with Architecture for Humanity.

Olivia became involved in disaster recovery planning after moving to New Orleans to aid in the rebuilding of the city after Hurricane Katrina. There, she worked for Providence Community Housing, a non-profit affordable housing developer and was a Fellow with the Rockefeller Foundation-funded Redevelopment Fellowship. Her inspiration to pursue planning came from working on the early development efforts of the High Line park in Manhattan.

Olivia holds a B.A. in Art History from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, a Master of Urban Planning from New York University, and a Certificate in Urban Redevelopment from the University of Pennsylvania.
